“May is the month of expectation, the month of wishes, the month of hope.” - Emily Brontë (1818-1848) English novelist and poet

Is it May already? While it seems the time goes by too swiftly, Wanderings is just getting warmed up, no pun intended! Among May’s plethora of events, we are highlighting Mothers with their very own page of fun; as well as Memorial Day, honoring those who served our country and gave the ultimate sacrifice. This month's cover photo depicts Blairstown's Memorial Ceremony in Cedar Ridge, part of the town's Memorial Day parade hosted by Givens-Belet American Legion Post 258. This year's parade will be honoring the 80th Anniversary of D-Day. Thank you to all moms and military members!

The Wine Train to Villa Milagro Vineyards starts up this weekend and runs through October, while the following weekend is the Spring Open House with the Phillipsburg Railroad Historians. Farmers markets are cropping up, as are summer concert series.

The 35th Annual Raritan River Music Festival runs throughout the month of May, including the Mahattan Chamber Players in Stewartsville. Check out the latest News for more information.

Check in with the Explore Warren team this weekend, at the Rock N Roll Steampunk Fair in Washington Boro on May 4 and at Shippen Manor’s 270th Anniversary celebration in Oxford on May 5. Tell us you heard about it in Wanderings; that makes our day!

Happy Mother's Day, Happy Memorial Day and Happy Wanderings!
